Negotiation is more than just sitting across the table throwing offers at the other party. The ability to negotiate involves an understanding of how to persuade and influence using methods that leave both parties satisfied. In order to achieve a positive outcome, various techniques can be used and once you are aware of how to go about using these techniques you, and your team will feel empowered and confident.
Effective negotiation skills also reduce conflict, maintain positive relationships and increase productivity. Whether you are using these skills in minor ways or for more formal disputes, you will ultimately feel in control of the situations that require negotiation in the workplace.
This course is designed for professionals working on a supervisor level and upwards although any professional will benefit from using these techniques. Using your experiences and the best practice that I have gained over my career, I hope to provide you with the necessary skills that you will need to ensure positive dispute resolution.
There is no formal assessment for this course however a short self-assessment will be handed out to each learner at the end of the course. As the facilitator, I will be using various informal assessment methods during the courses to understand if the concepts are being understood and can be applied.
One of the many interpersonal skills that are misunderstood is the art of negotiating in the workplace.
