This course is designed to help you understand what unconscious biases are, how they impact us all, and how we can overcome them. We will look at how we all make assumptions and why, techniques we can use to help our relationships grow with people who are different to us. We will look at language, behaviours and ways in which we can all be more open and inclusive to people who are not the same as us.
Learning about how to be more inclusive in how you deal with people is an essential business skill. So much of success at work depends on being able to connect with others and build trust. Yet we often put barriers in the way. Learning about biases will help you develop your business and leadership skills.
The course is taught through slides and interactive discussions.
By the end of the course, you will have learnt about assumptions you make and that people make about you, and how we can all learn to be more inclusive.
This course is interactive, and the session is full of practical guidance to help you develop more inclusive and effective interpersonal skills.
This course will challenge the way you see the world around you, and enable you to have greater influence.
No previous knowledge of the subject is required.
Please bring something to make notes.
No need to do any homework, just have a think about one or 2 examples where you might have made an assumption about something or someone. An assumption is an unexamined belief: what we think without realizing we think it. Our conclusions are often based on assumptions that we haven't thought about critically.
No study is required out of the classroom and there will be no homework.

Each Learned.Live teacher is awarded a 4 star review for every one of their courses we have approved, in line with our assessment. This is why some teachers will display more than one 4 star review from Learned.Live if they have had multiple courses rigorously assessed by our team. We would not approve a course application if we did not feel it warranted a default 4 star review. Teacher star ratings are an average of each of their courses star ratings and will become modified as more students review their course(s) over time
