Whether you are called a Team Leader, a Supervisor or a Manager, you will find that a good understanding of management theory and practice can help you to perform more effectively in your role. Now, there is an awful lot of management theory out there, and to cover it all would take a huge amount of time. So, this course is designed to introduce you to a few key theories that focus on the role of personality in management, the need for a situation-based approach and an action-based approach. These are models and theories which I have personally found useful and have seen benefit managers who I have trained in my 30+ years in this field. In addition, the course will examine a number of motivation theories to help you gain greater insight into why your people perform in the way that they do and look at what you can do in order to improve motivation within your team. The course will include discussions, presentations and case studies, and you will also be asked to complete some questionnaires prior to attending classes that will be used during the workshop. The content of the whole course is set, but the content of each class can be adjusted according to progress and the level of discussion required around each topic. The course is suitable for anyone new to a management role as well as anyone who is already in a management role and is looking to improve their knowledge and skills. I look forward to working with you soon.

About Me

I am a Master Practitioner of NLP and have been working in corporate training for over 30 years now. During that time, I have been lucky enough to work with people from all over the world both at home and abroad, adapting to the cultural needs and different approaches to learning. I have worked with companies in a variety of industries including aviation, rail and bus transportation, contact centres, Human Resources and retail.

Whether you are a Team Leader, Supervisor, Manager or Leader looking to get the most from your team, someone looking to improve their skills in order to improve in your current job or help set yourself up for a new job, or a front-line employee looking to deliver a great experience for your customers, I have a variety of training sessions that will help you. If you are looking for something specific that is not on my list of subjects, please do contact me and I will be happy to try and assist you.

I really do believe that learning should be fun. That means that any training session with me will be interesting, engaging and will use a variety of techniques. For example, I might present some information, you might complete a questionnaire, we might have a discussion and you might have the opportunity to practise your skills in a case study. Most importantly, at the end of every training session, I want you to be able ‘to do something’ and not just ‘know about something’.

Each Learned.Live teacher is awarded a 4 star review for every one of their courses we have approved, in line with our assessment. This is why some teachers will display more than one 4 star review from Learned.Live if they have had multiple courses rigorously assessed by our team. We would not approve a course application if we did not feel it warranted a default 4 star review. Teacher star ratings are an average of each of their courses star ratings and will become modified as more students review their course(s) over time.
